| Prepares you to competently practice Ear reflexology. |
A 70-hour certificate course, home study and practicum that prepares you to competently practice ear reflexology. The first evening of the course commences with an introduction to the holistic, historical and theoretical context of ear reflexology - with an introduction to the ear reflexology chart. The evening is completed with a "hands -on" introduction to techniques used to stimulate reflexes of the ears. Short nails on the thumb and index finger are required for effectiveness. On Saturday morning, each segment of the ear is introduced with a presentation of the value of stimulating the reflex areas contained within each segment. This is interwoven with instruction in the techniques used to stimulate the reflex areas of each segment of the ears. Sunday is a day of review and practicing the techniques to develop confidence. At the conclusion of the course instruction the requirements of the practicum are reviewed before participants set out to practice on their friends. Participants submit documentation of their practice for review and coaching upon completion of their practicum. Participants who are not able to submit their documentation in person submit it by mail. A certificate is awarded for successful completion of the course. | HAND REFLEXOLOGY |
| Learn the hand reflexes and learn a new method of working on the hands. Learn some fine relaxation techniques for hard-working hands and carpal tunnel corrections. |
Some people prefer to have Reflexology done on their hands – they are embarrassed to show their feet. Some practitioners give their clients “homeplay” reflexes on their hands so they can help themselves. Personally, I work the hands as well as the feet in every session – to tell the body that I mean business! |

| Animal Reflexology and Other Natural Therapies |
| with Jackie Segers from New Zealand |
Natural therapies once thought to be only for humans are now becoming increasingly popular with our companion animals. Stress is the most common cause of all illness and disease in pets and humans alike. Natural therapies are minimally invasive way to diffuse this stress and encourage the body’s own healing ability. This workshop covers reflexology, acupressure, holistic pulsing and energy balancing techniques to maintain good health and to assist during health problems and recovery from trauma or surgery. They work exceptionally well alongside veterinarian care but are not designed as a replacement. The workshop is for all pet owners, holistic veterinarians/vet nurses and people involved or interested in animal bodywork or animal care. Participants can bring their companion animals (by arrangement with the instructor or owner of Pacific Institute of Reflexology, as this will need to be scheduled). All animals can benefit from these natural therapies. Participants will receive a comprehensive manual and a certificate. |

| Cranio Sacral Reflexology - Basic & Advance |
with Dr. Martine Faure-Alderson
Introduction, Embryology/CNS/Automatic Nervous System,
Cranial Movement/Membranes/Lesions of CRI, CSF Fluid,
General Cranio Sacral Treatment, The Cranial Nerves. |
Cranio sacral is the name given to the approach to osteopathy developed by Dr Sutherland 100 years ago. He saw how the bone structure of the skull permitted slight motion and noted that restriction of normal motion due to injury, trauma or disease could affect health. The cranial osteopath works gently with the bones in the skull and associated bodily systems to remedy such conditions. The Reflexologist can achieve the same result by combining an understanding of cranio-sacral therapy with conventional reflexology, since the bones of the feet reflect the skull and sacrum exactly.
The body’s inner health is perceived through a gentle pulse called the CSRI. It arises at the core of the body within the brain and spinal cord and the fluid, which surrounds them. It is a tide-like rhythm, which expresses itself throughout all of the body. Areas of congestion and restriction in function of any part of the body can be felt as an imbalance in its motion and treated.
A reflexologist has a highly developed sense of palpation and is trained to detect and assess the dynamic state of the body tissues;’ Both within the feet and the rest of the body. By using the gentle techniques of Cranio-Sacral Reflexology” the practitioner is able to release the strain patterns found and support the body in its attempt to retum to an ideal state of balance and function for healing to progress.
Cranio-Sacral Reflexology is suitable for everyone, from newborn babies to the elderly including those with fragile and acute medical conditions:
Baby and Infant Conditions, Colic, sucking difficulties, reflux Premature babiesRecurrent ear and throat infections-Irritability, insomnia, excess crying,-Development and behavioural delay/ disorders, Poor eye coordination, Difficulties in turning the head Birth trauma, Adult General Trauma and Conditions, - Sinusitis, Stress related illness, Jaw disorders, Bronchitis and Asthma, Insomnia, Depression, Migraine, Tinnitus, Back, shoulder and neck pain, Whiplash, and sports injuries.

Mrs Martine Faure Alderson is a fully qualified Osteopath with 40 years experience in private practice. In addition, in 1970, Mrs Alderson was awarded a Doctorate in Homeopathy and General Medicine. She is also qualified in Acupuncture, Herbal Medecine and Reflexology.
She has a school in Paris and has taught Postgraduate students of reflexology since 1968. She holds her seminars throughout Europe and teaches in America, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
"I am please to offer an unique clinical reflexology course on the cranial-sacral system. This course enables the reflexologist to enhance the circulation in the head and the cranial organs through treatment of the feet. The cerebro spinal fluid (CSF) is treated, stimulated and transported to all parts of the body and the 12 cranial nerves are treated individually, following a special technique via the autonomic nervous system. These techniques are also extremely useful to help stress and whiplash injuries and can be added at the end of a conventional treatment." |

| Classical Equitation with Craig Stevens |
Craig has spent 20 years studying with the French masters at Samur in France, his methods are 18th centure when Equitation was considered an art form.
The horses are trained by learning to balance & be in self carriage,
& no restraints or force is used. |
Working with Craig, it's the quality of each moment with the horse, not just the movement produced, that is most of interest. As the rider develops the understanding and ability to communicate more clearly, the movements improve-- but rather than learning tricks to mask mistakes, riders learn what they are doing that is producing the mistake and how to ride with such clarity that the movements become fluid, light, and precise. Craig's methods produce, very quickly and without abuse, a calm, willing, responsive horse interested in engaging in a conversation with his rider. Horse owners are in training right along with their mount, learning to maintain a conversation sustainable after the horse leaves. |

Craig Stevens An international clinician, Craig has been recognized by the Swedish Dressage Foundation, and teaches 6 months of the year in Europe, France and England. Students come from all over the world to ride with this master at his centre in Snohomish, Washington. Craig is endorsed by Philippe Karl, the French classical master, and by natural horsemanship clinician and trainer, Ed Dabney, who is gaining national prominance in the US. Professor Invgar Fredricson, head of Flyinge (the Swedish National Stud) from 1983 to 1998 appreciates his decades of study, and refers to Craig as an American scholar of the horse. Dag Nätterqvist ("Dadde") the Swedish Olympic jumping star as well as a prominent teacher remembered for his years teaching at Strömsholm - the Swedish National Riding School, said " Craig Stevens is the first really good riding teacher to teach dressage in Sweden since the 1950´s. "It's not unusual to hear Craig explain an equine movement in musical terms, or the horse-human relationship in romantic ones. It's a language of touch, he points out, where one animal desires to engage the mind of the other, and the closest metaphors are based in the sensual, tactile language that we use when we're flirting. Craig Stevens and the staff at the Park Lane Equestrian Centre, welcome you to join us in studying the art, science, theory and play of classical equitation. |

| November 14th is BC Bereavement Day |
| Grief Shared is Grief Diminished. CALL 1-877-779-2223 for events in your community. |
Grief is a highly complex and absolutely normal reaction to a death. It affects each person differently. It takes time to work through, often much longer than people expect. Many people feel isolated in their grief and pressured by society's expectations to "get over it and move on". Since 1998, November 14th has been officially recognized by the Province of BC as Bereavement Day. It is a day to share stories of remembrance, feelings of loss, and to seek comfort by gathering with others experiencing similar feelings. Communities throughout the Province will be organizing memorial events, such as, candle lighting, dove release, readings, and services for reflection and hope. Please call us if you would like help planning your own event or to learn about one near you. Additionally, if you would like to purchase a black ribbon pin to wear in support of bereavement as a natural response to death for yourself or your community, please call us. The BC Bereavement Helpline has been serving the bereaved in BC for over 20 years. Volunteers are here to listen to you in your greatest time of need and to refer you to a support group in your area. A knowledgeable and compassionate volunteer will take the call, determine the type of loss, the type of support the person is seeking, which city the individual is calling from, and what would be the most appropriate support. The caller receives immediate support from The Helpline, acknowledgement that they are not "going crazy", that there is help available, and that it is a positive step to attend a grief support group. | MERIDIANS ON THE FEET REFLEXOLOGY |
Imagine working the foot as if it were a body, with its very own meridians, or recognizing that you must perform your correction on the body meridian, & not the foot. This seminar, which synthesizes Reflexology, Applied Kinesiology, Meridians and Acupuncture points, shortens and directs your session to involve a variety of health components. You will observe and consider the entire body/mind including your client’s emotions as a cause of dis-ease and a path to correction. Explore energy concepts within the scope of Reflexology. Integrate and harmonize the skills you already possess to create a very special health correction. This will help you discover relevant corrections for any individual. Balance your client toward the important issues in their lives. Use muscle checking to determine the most effective corrections. By the end of the 3 full days, your observation skills will be heightened, your choice of quick and permanent corrections will enhance your work. Illustrated notes in binder, over 200 pages

| Vertical Reflex Therapy is a remarkable reflexology discovery where the dorsal hand or foot reflexes are briefly treated while weight-bearing. |
What are the benefits? The therapeutic response from VRT is often quicker, especially with orthopedic problems. Advanced VRT techniques can often help intransigent conditions. VRT can also be used as a brief first-aid treatment or as part of a comprehensive 25 minute treatment for hospices, the workplace, schools, sports centres, etc.
How does it fit into my conventional practice? Simply reduce your classical treatment to allow time to apply VRT for up to 5 minutes at the beginning and/or end of treatments. VRT complements all forms of reflexology and enhances, rather than replaces, your other techniques and skills. We also offer one day courses on VRT and the Endocrine system where neural pathway reflexes are worked, Advanced VRT techniques and VRT Hand and Nail-working courses. Over 5000 reflexologists have attended authorized VRT courses in the UK and internationally. The courses are accredited by the Complementary Therapists’ Association (IGPP) and Booth VRT can provide a VRT practitioner list for particular geographical areas. Certificates of Attendance are issued. Lynne Booth's best selling book, Vertical Reflexology and also Vertical Reflexology for Hands are available from bookshops and Booth VRT direct. |

| CHAKRAS ON THE FEET |
Chakras are the interface between the physical and non-physical elements of your system. A lump in your throat may have to do with fear, or something you can’t speak of as well as a spasm of the muscles or a thyroid condition. A “gut feeling” is another example that we experience. Perhaps you know about chakras and how to balance them on the body. Here is a unique system of Chakra balancing within the scope of a Reflexology session. Two different systems will be presented. Each deals with the different facets of the Chakras, spiritual, and emotional and physical aspects. Learn how to use sound, aromatherapy, colour, and crystals to enhance your chakra session. |

| Basic Foot Reflexology Certificate Weekend Course |
| Prepares you to competently practice foot reflexology. |
A 70-hour certificate course, home study and practicum that prepares you to competently practice hand reflexology on yourself and others. This intensive seventy hour course is offered in both weekend and evening course formats, and consists of twenty hours of group instruction, ten hours home study and forty hours of practicum. Enrolment is limited to fourteen participants ensuring plenty of personal supervision during the learning process. A complete set of course notes plus an audio tape that guides the listener through a complete foot reflexology session are provided to participants to support them in their learning. The first evening of the course commences with an introduction to the historical and theoretical context of reflexology. The evening is completed with a “hands-on” introduction to the techniques used to loosen up and relax the feet and the basic techniques used to stimulate reflexes. Saturday, instruction covers preparation for a session and learning the techniques used to stimulate the different reflexes of the feet. Sunday, these techniques are repeatedly reviewed by participants to develop confidence. At the conclusion of the course instruction the requirements of the home study and practicum are reviewed before participants set out to practice on their friends. Participants submit documentation of their practice and home study for review and coaching upon completion of their practicum. Participants who are not able to submit their documentation in person submit it by mail. The promise of the course is that participants who complete the requirements will be able to practice foot reflexology competently. This course, combined with the Advanced Reflexology Professional Skills Certificate Course prepares you to write the Reflexology Association of British Columbia professional standard exam. This course has also been accredited by the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia for their Continuing Education and Professional Development program. |

Touch For Health Applied Kinesiology has been a successful health mode since 1974 when a chiropractor, Dr. John Thie, found that these techniques could be taught to all people so they could really be in charge of their health and that of their family. Touchpoint is the only school teaching all 4 levels as a composite. Then, instead of having to relearn, review, and unlearn bad habits, you can master all the techniques, refine them, practise them. Then you can blend TFH with your other skills or it can become your new career, with all its extras and shortcuts! On the last day of class, you will work on a stranger - your first client! A 6th day has been added as required by Can. Assoc of Specialized Kinesiology. This is a follow-up day. Students will decide on the day. Among the many techniques you will learn Acupressure massage, meridian work, Neuro-lymphatic and Neuro-vascular corrections. Muscle corrections, Food & Supplement testing, Eye & Ear corrections. Even with all the material, expect to learn with joy, laughter and 85% hands-on. Learn postural corrections, pain relief, emotional stress release, sports-related corrections. Each level will take you more deeply into the field of health maintenance as well as body repair. Muscle checking is the biofeedback tool and you will become an expert at ‘talking with the body’ .
