Greetings OK In Health members,

This month OK In Health attended two great wellness show in Penticton and Kelowna last month. Thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hello and have a reading. Next shows that we will be at the Holistic Market in Kelowna on Jan 28 and the Illuminate Psychic Fair in Kelowna on January 19 - 21 at Capri Coast Hotel. (New Location). Booth's now available for rent.

Check out this week's OK In Health's Soular Rhythms column managed by Astrolger/Numerologist Michael O’Connor. Take time in your busy week to reflect on your inner rhythms of yourself and your life.
By stopping once a week, to reflect on the message of Soular Rhythms it gives us time to evaluate our week ahead, our goals for that week, and also to embrace what is most important to us. Reflecting on these words helps us set the intent for what we wish for, what we need for the week, and helping us live a balanced life.

Sweet Potato Colcannon with Kale

Description:
An Irish slant on a Christmas or Thanksgiving side with a bit of a kick! Traditionally in North America you might have sweet potatoes with marshmallows, roasted or in a casserole, so why not tip your hat to the Irish flag and create this Irish sweet potato colcannon. Traditionally colcannon is eaten at Halloween but it’s a wonderful dish to have at any time. Sweet potatoes are an excellent source of vitamin A (in the form of beta-carotene). They are also a very good source of vitamin C, manganese, copper, pantothenic acid and vitamin B6. Additionally, they are a good source of potassium, dietary fiber, niacin, vitamin B1, vitamin B2 and phosphorus. Sweet potatoes are naturally sweet-tasting but their natural sugars are slowly released into the bloodstream, helping to ensure a balanced and regular source of energy, without the blood sugar spikes linked to fatigue and weight gain. Note: Grocery stores often have two types of labelling for sweet potatoes. Yam — Soft sweet potato with a copper skin and deep orange flesh. Sweet potato — Firm sweet potato with golden skin and lighter flesh.

BRUSSELS SPROUTS GRATIN (Gluten Free / 3 points)

Description:
Brussels Sprouts Gratin are the perfect Holiday side dish! The brussels sprouts are roasted until crisp, then topped with a light cheese sauce made with Gruyere and Parmesan, and baked until brown and bubbling. If you are as obsessed with brussels sprouts as I am, you’ll love these. This recipe can be made the night before and heated on the day. Brussels sprouts are available year round; however, they are at their best from autumn through early spring when they are at the peak of their growing season. Plant phytonutrients found in Brussels sprouts enhance the activity of the body's natural defense systems to protect against disease, including cancer.

Chocolate Avocado Pudding (Paleo,Vegan)

Description:
This chocolate avocado pudding is creamy, delicious, and healthy! A great way to get your chocolate fix in a healthier way! Have you heard of chocolate avocado pudding? Have you wondered if it would actually be good? Recently I noticed we had a few extra ripe avocados, I decided to give it a whirl. Literally. In my new blender. I didn’t have a recipe, I just pulled a few ingredients out and blended them up, and surprise! Chocolate avocado pudding is good. Very good, actually. It looks just like regular chocolate pudding, and you can’t taste the avocado, it just adds a really nice creaminess. And of course it adds some nice nutritional benefits as well, like lots of good, healthy fats. Dessert without the guilt. Some tips about this chocolate avocado pudding: You do need to make sure that the avocado is perfectly ripe. An under ripe avocado won’t work, because it won’t be able to be blended down into a creamy consistency, and an overripe avocado also won’t work, because it won’t taste good. You need the avocado to be just right. No brown spots or streaks inside – don’t try it – it won’t work! If you taste the pudding, and you think it needs more sweetener, or more cocoa, go ahead and add some. Use your own judgement.

QUESTION: What is Aloe Vera Used for?

ANSWER: Aloe Vera – This is one of the most healing of plants. Apply it to sunburns, burns of any other variety, scrapes, abrasions and any other skin condition that has been influenced by an outside source. Use the gel for topical (on the skin) applications and the juice for internal use (to assist with digestion and other digestive tract complaints.) Aloe Vera can also be used for our pets to provide a wide array of natural vitamins, enzymes and amino acids, which boosts your pet's immune system, relieves irritated skin and improves overall well-being. If someone receives a severe burn (as an example), and has seen aloe vera help renew healthy skin and put an end to any bacterial invasion, that is significant enough proof for many of us, to give it a try. Most of the time, Nature provides us with whatever we need, to get and/or remain healthy. For more info on Aloe Vera check this local Okanagan family run company's website. www.melissasaloe.com

“How many Guardian Angels do most people have?” by Cindy Smith
For the month of September I was guided to write about our Angels. September 8, 2012 is International Angel Day!! Doreen Virtue created IAD several years ago. Her goal being that Angel Practitioners around the world would hold an event on IAD to acknowledge and celebrate our Angels. This year will be my fifth. Students and clients ask me many questions about Guardian Angels. Here are some examples to help explain what Guardian Angels mean to me.
7 Ways to Keep Calm During the Hectic Holiday Season by
Here we go: we’re at the top of the roller coaster about to plummet straight into the hustle and bustle of holiday season! Some years it feels like Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s aren’t so much festive celebrations as anxiety-inducing events I have to white-knuckle my way through. So how did the season of gratitude and love become rife with stress and panic? For me, social pressure and my own unnecessarily high standards resulted in way too much...
Coconut Oil - A Good Choice? by
Coconut oil has gained popularity as a healthful choice with the public. A recent survey in the New York Times found that 72% of North Americans believe coconut oil was a “healthy food,” compared to only 37% of nutritionists. So What is coconut oil?

Grief During the Holiday Season by
The Canadian Mental Health Association (CHMA) points out that it is easy to feel overwhelmed during the holiday season. Even when things are going well, the holiday season can be stressful. Having experienced a loss can make the holiday season that much more stressful. Loss can come in many forms e.g., death, divorce or estrangement. If you are dealing with the loss of someone close, the season can magnify these feelings. Unfortunately, society does not deal well with grief and sadness. Most people don't know what to do when someone has experienced a loss and may avoid them because of this. If you are dealing with loss during the holiday season, the CMHA suggests that you...

My Vibrational Shifts in Ireland by Cindy Smith
I want to share about our Celtic Angel Sacred Tour to Ireland this year for two reasons, gratitude and vibration shifts with our Angels and Mother Earth. On this trip, our second tour, my Angel Team assisted me to increase my awareness of understanding of how different locations on mother earth, affect my physical being and can make it easier to connect to the Angels because of this vibration.
The Kundalini of Earth by Monika Muranyi
For thousands of years humans have been aware of Kundalini energy within the body, but did you know that our planet, Gaia also has Kundalini energy? According to many ancient prophesies Gaia’s Kundalini energy has begun to move, heralding the return of a balanced planet and the creation of peace on Earth.
Who were the First People to Settle in Ireland? by Maria O'Farrell Carr
According to the Lebor Gabála Érenn (The Book of Invasions), the first people to settle in Ireland were led by a woman named Cessair. The granddaughter of the biblical character Noah, it is said Cessair, her followers and her father Bith were denied admission to the Ark. Cessair then made an...

Horoscope for the week: December 1, 2017

Tip of the Week:
The 12th month of the year coincides aptly with the 9th Sign, Sagittarius, since 12 represents completion and ending, as well. Astrologically, Pisces is the 12th sign and it is symbolic of the link between the conscious and the subconscious, the manifest and the unmanifest, the embodied and the disembodied soul. December leads us to Winter Solstice and the socially contrived New Year, which begins at the strike of 12 midnight when the 12th month officially ends and the 1st begins.

We live immersed in symbolism that comes in many forms, such as numbers. Astrology and Numerology share a close relationship and serve to reveal a natural order. The seasonal round operates like clockwork and we have since time immemorial and continue to this day to live in the context of it. Traditionally and cross-culturally the seasonal round was regarded as sacred and most religions are founded upon the various peak points in the natural ...
