Dark Chocolate Covered Kiwifruit

Description:
Kiwi fruits are rich in many Vitamins, flavonoids and minerals. In particular, they contain a high amount of Vitamin C (more than oranges), as much potassium as bananas and a good amount of beta-carotene. The high content in dietary fiber helps improving diseases such as diabetes, by controlling sugar levels, and colon cancer, since fiber binds to toxic compounds in the colon and helps us expel them. Fiber has also been proven to reduce cholesterol levels, improving the conditions of patients with cardiovascular diseases and lowering the probability of heart attacks. Anti Oxidant properties in Kiwi Fruit are important to note as kiwi fruits contain a remarkable amount of Vitamin C, E and A. Vitamin C is a water-soluble antioxidant that has been proven to protect our body from free radicals, dramatically improving the health of individuals who consumed it regularly against all kinds of disease, from cardiovascular problems to cancer and obesity. Vitamin E has been proven to have similar effects, but is fat-soluble and thus is complimentary to Vitamin C in its functions. Kiwi fruits contain both these vitamins in high amount, which help protect our body against free radicals from all fronts. Summary of Kiwifruit Health Benefits. Eating kiwi fruit is clearly a healthy choice, and it is particularly useful in these cases: •Prevents Asthma•Prevents wheezing and coughing, especially in children•Protects our DNA from mutations•Provides a healthy amount of antioxidants and vitamins•Helps prevent colon cancer thanks to a high fiber content.

QUESTION

Is there an effective way to prevent or get rid of athlete's foot? Particularly symptoms like itching, burning and skin irritation/peeling? Thanks! From Adam, Surrey, BC

REPLY

Athlete's foot, also called tinea pedis, develops in the moist areas between the toes and sometimes on other parts of the foot, as well. Please consult your physician for proper diagnosis and treatment. He or she may suggest using an over-the-counter anti-fungal ointment, lotion, powder, or a prescribed oral medication (depending upon the severity of your case). Though some natural healing practitioners suggest using tea tree oil for treatment of athlete's foot, this oil has not been proven to cure all cases.

The tips below may prove useful for preventing athlete's foot and easing discomfort of symptoms:

•Wash your feet with mild disinfectant soap and hot water twice daily. Dry feet with a cotton towel.
•Keep your feet dry, especially the spaces between your toes.
•Wear cotton or wool socks, which draw moisture away from your feet. Avoid wearing nylon or synthetic socks.
•Change your socks twice daily and wash them in hot water with a disinfectant.
•Wear waterproof sandals in communal showers, pools, fitness centers and other public areas.
•Don't share shoes, socks, or nail clippers.
•Add a few drops of tea tree oil to a vitamin E cream and apply to feet before you go to bed. This will help to reduce itching and burning.

The Turning Point
Creating Resilience in a time of Extremes
by Gregg Braden
1st Edition Jan. 2014
ISBN 978-1-4019-2923-7

The Turning Point is written by Gregg Braden New York Times best-selling author who is internationally renowned as a pioneer in bridging science, spirituality, and the real world. Gregg Braden is also the author of several other books such as The God Code, The Divine Matrix, Fractal Time, and Deep Truth. His 2007 best seller, The Divine Matrix, was recently selected as the source for the made-for-television feature, “Entanglement,”
His latest book “The Turning Point” which just hit the book stands in January of 2014 challenges the reader to shift the way in which we think of ourselves and our relationship to the world.

The Turning Point was created as a means to answer questions. Gregg Braden goes into great detail as to the state of our present world issues and how our thinking has to shift if we are to survive as a species. Are we willing to embrace the thinking that makes such possibilities a priority? The Turning Point is an in depth look at how our world has changed in all areas such as Climate extremes, Population extremes, Energy extremes, Economic extremes and what we, as an individual, can do to make sure Earth continues to thrive for all future generations.

The Turning Point gives us “The Big Picture” Gregg asks the reader to keep in mind five facts such as;

1. Now is different
2. The turning point of thriving transformation can replace the tipping point of extremes
3. Life gets better and resilience is the key
4. We already have new solutions
5. The biggest crisis is the most difficult to accept.

Throughout the book Gregg reminds us that shifting our way of thinking and becoming resilient to change is a means of surviving the changes we are experiencing. The Turning Point is a wake-up call for all of us. In times of extreme change such as we have seen and experienced in the past decade our own personal resilience to adapting to such changes will be key to our overall physical and emotional survival.

The Turning Point is written with the intention of empowering the reader in choices that can lead to thriving lives and a new transformed and sustainable world. He quotes Nobel Prize-Winning Physicist, Niels Bohr

“Every great and deep difficulty bears in itself its own solution. It forces us to change our thinking in order to find it”

The Turning Point is a compilation of extensively researched facts of our ever changing world, its effects, and where we are heading unless we make significant changes in the now. I can honestly say that this book is an incredible resource of information and poignant suggestions that has made me see things in a much different perspective. The author is right when he says that too often we tend to not want to see the changes before us and hope things will go back to the way they were. But the changes are here, we are experiencing more and more turbulen

OK In Health’s "Okanagan Angels and Fairies Fair"

Under the Umbrella of the OK In Health eMagazine and Angel Empowerment Practitioners™, the first annual OK In Health’s "Okanagan Angels and Fairies Day" had its debut on Saturday June 14, at the Shatford Center in Penticton. There were vendors and practitioners in from our three western provinces, and one in from South Africa. The was a day full of Angel and Fairy talks, acquainting people with the possibilities of working with their Angelic Guides and Fairies Folk. It was a magical day, the energy was clear, playful, and Angelic. The public loved the talks, the vendors, and many took advantage of the Angel Card Readings, Fairy reading, Intuitive reading and many other readers, and practitioners that were present for the day. It is with great anticipation that we look forward to next year, as many people left the day asking when it was going to happen again!
See you there next year!

OK In Health’s Summer Solstice – Okanagan Lake Vortex Gathering

On Saturday June 21st we had a wonderful 'Gathering' ceremony on the Okanagan Lake beach, close to the Marina in Penticton at 11:11am. We gathered to assist Archangels Michael and Metatron to do some sacred work with the new Trinity Era energy and clearing/re-activation of the earthstar energy wheel and to welcome in the Summer Solstice. The day was so beautiful with clear blue skies and surround by the clear blue lake. A duck came into our circle to join us again and a friend people who were at the beach came over to join us too. Thank you to everyone who came from along the valley to join us.

Angel Empowerment Practitioners Course (AEP)

Hosted by OK In Health eMagazine, international teacher, Cindy Smith came in from Calgary to teach her amazing 4 day, Angel Empowerment Practitioner™ course. In this class students learn how to connect with Angels. Empowerment is taught through learning to open to and trust your natural intuitive senses while working with the Archangels for messages and healing for self and others. Cindy teaches how to do professional angel card readings that include chakra clearing, aura work, energy cord cutting and much more. It is an awesome course for Self Empowerment, for the beginner or someone who has been on the spiritual path for many years, wether you do card readings for others or not.

Cindy was also one of our guest speakers at the Okanagan Angels & Fairies Day. Cindy will be back in The Okanagan to teach the AEP course. Please contact Maria Carr or OK In Health eMagazine for more details.

OK In Health’s - OK-anagan Gathering & Bean-A-Ti

The OK-anagan Gathering & Bean-A-Ti’s, were a huge success for celebrating OK In Health’s ten years of service. Our theme in June was Connecting to Y-OUR Sacred Angels. Our guest speaker, Cindy Smith AEP™, created an intimate and safe space where we could feel the presence of our Angels in the room. We ended the evening with Bean-A-Ti, that is a cup of tea and visiting. This was our last gathering for the year. We plan to be back in the New Year and we invite you to come out and celebrate with us and join us in Sacred Community to learn, live and laugh together!

Our next community event we are sponsoring is Gregg Braden visit to the Okanagan in September.

During the last years of the Cold War, I had a front row seat as a senior systems designer in the defense industry to one of the most frightening times in the history of the world, and the thinking that led to it. They spent the time, energy, and human resources to develop and stockpile somewhere in the neighborhood of 65,000nuclear weapons — a combined arsenal with the power to microwave the Earth, and everything on it, many times over.

The layout of the site guides and connects me to all my holistic needs. The topics on holistic healing and practitioners is variable and meets the needs of all. It covers a multitude of various kinds of healings, healing practitioners, community and world events, healthy food recipes, families, animals and plants. I love how OK In Health is non-biased, and it offers me fr
