Publisher's Message ~ October 2017 Issue
Greetings OK In Health members,

Starting this October our Soular Rhythms monthly column is going weekly.
Take time in your busy week to reflect on your inner rhythms of yourself and your life.

At OK In Health we focus on integrative care and paying attention to our daily lives. By stopping once a week, to reflect on the message of Soular Rhythms it gives us time to evaluate our week ahead, our goals for that week, and also to embrace what is most important to us. Reflecting on these words helps us set the intent for what we wish for, what we need for the week, and helping us live a balanced life.

OK In Health's Soular Rhythms column managed by Michael O’Connor.  Astrolger/Numerologist and a popular columnist, lecturer, presenter and workshop facilitator, Michael brings enthusiasm, passion and a wealth of knowledge. Catering to an international clientele Michael is dedicated to assisting people to be more self aware, in-tune, authentic, healthy, professionally satisfied, happy and successful.  He has an excellent understanding of your relationships, health, career, changes and core nature. Gain a deeper self-awareness and attunement to the natural cycles in your life. Michael provides personal Readings for individuals and couples, workshops and lectures, and frequently travels throughout the northwest. Check out our new Soular Rhythm Column

Cauliflower Cheesy Biscuits

Description:
Perfectly-portioned, and entirely gluten-free, these cheesy bites have less than 25 calories per biscuit. They might be small, but they bring a burst of garlicky-cheddar flavor every time you pop them in your mouth. You can serve them as your “bread basket” before dinner or on a platter for a fun appetizer. Think back on the days of the restaurant bread basket—endless amounts of bread with butter or olive oil delivered to your table as soon as you sat down. I have to admit; I miss the days of free biscuits, bread sticks and all other carb-heavy appetizers so now we have a new option.

Curried Quinoa Lentil Salad

Description:
This is a great lunch or dinner side dish, full of protein and vegetables. Lentils are loaded with fiber, folate, iron, protein, and other vitamins and minerals, lentils are a nutritional fountain of youth. Researchers who studied the elderly found that eating these earthy-tasting seeds (and other legumes) is the single most important dietary factor in longevity. When it comes to fiber, a mere half cup of lentils provides around a third of your daily requirements. Whether you purchase lentils prepackaged or in bulk, look for those that appear largely unbroken (bags with broken lentils appear "dusty") and when you get home, don't mix newly purchased lentils with older ones; the older they are, the longer they take to cook. Keep them stored in a cool, dry place, and they will stay fresh for several months.

Sugar Free Muffins

Description:
These are great if you need to have a sugar free diet. Add any kind of fruit you like. If you have a favourite muffin flavour, try that. It is a very flexible recipe. You can adjust this recipe to other flavour variations such as: Carrot Cake Apple Cinnamon Rhubarb Strawberry Rhubarb Fruit Muffins Submitted by Cathy Lauer

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a natural healing art, based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet, hands and ears, which correspond to every part, gland and organ of the body. Through applications of medium pressure on these reflexes, reflexology relieves tension, improves circulation, and helps promote the natural function of related areas of the body. Reflexologists do not diagnose, prescribe or treat specific conditions. Reflexology has been practiced in India, Egypt and China for over 5,000 years and continues to be widely used throughout the world today as a safe, effective and beneficial therapy. Essentially, Reflexology helps to balance the physical, mental and emotional aspects of your whole body.

Do You Block Healing for Yourself? by Cindy Smith
Dear Angel Friends, I posed the question to Archangel Raphael around healing for you because there seems to be some confusion on how we can heal ourselves. Yes, there are many lightworkers in our world that can assist with amazing healing energy and I am blessed to have met so many of them. I do want to remind you that you have the most powerful gift of healing at your own fingertips-your Angelic Team. Yes, we may not all know practiced techniques of healing but your basic gift of healing is ASKING your team for assistance. What I have witnessed...
Herbal Care for Your Hair by Klaus Ferlow
Herbal products care for the body gently, with less risk of potentially harmful or harsh chemicals and synthetics. Part of a holistic view of our body's health includes the products that you put on your hair and skin. The hair needs regular cleansing to remain healthy and to restore lost oils. Many herbs have been known for their cleansing, toning and moisturizing properties for centuries.
How to Achieve Happiness in 5 steps by Carole Fawcett
We all enjoy life so much more when we are feeling happy and fulfilled. I believe that we will live longer and stronger if our personal purpose is joy. Happiness is not bought nor is it given. It is something we must reach out for and create in our own lives. It has no monetary value, but the value it does have is priceless....
Keeping Children Safe by Maggie Reigh
“Don’t talk to strangers; Stay inside where it’s ‘safe’; Stay off the internet chat lines. Look out! Be careful.” Such well-meaning comments can go a long way to undermining our child’s self-confidence, and our fear for their safety may shut down the greatest chance of survival our child has in any situation – their connection to their own instincts which have the ability to keep them safe.
Time to Celebrate! by Monika Muranyi
Having a positive outlook on life is a life-long pursuit. Being optimistic and positive is a habit, which begins from expressing gratitude and appreciation on a daily basis. No matter what may be happening in your life, there is always something to be thankful for. An attitude of gratitude often attracts benevolence. Here are five concepts to celebrate as part of your daily routine.
Vitamin D by Dr. Tamara Browne
In northern climates vitamin D deficiency is common due to the fact that the sun’s rays are angled to such an extent that the UVB portion of these rays is filtered out. In the Canadian winter we produce virtually no Vitamin D, even if we do expose our skin to the sun (not likely!).

This is a progressive condition and progression usually takes place over several years, but can progress at different rates depending on the person. World is Running out of Antibiotics? by Miscellaneous
The World Health Organization has released a new report examining the lack of new antibiotics in development to deal with the increasing threat of antimicrobial resistance. At this time, the medicines being developed are modified versions of existing classes of antibiotics and only serve as short-term solutions to antibiotic resistance. Of the 51 new drugs in development, only eight are innovative. In fact, according to the WHO, no major antibiotics have been developed over the last 30 years. There are 13 classes of priority pathogens that are becoming increasingly resistant to available antibiotics. Some of these pathogens cause common infections like...

Horoscope for the week: October 6, 2017

Tip of the Week:
Under the waning light of the Harvest Moon with the increasing darkness of autumn and against the splendorous backdrop of yellow, orange, red foliage amidst the evergreens, Jupiter enters Scorpio. Astrologically, Mercury hidden from sight within the light of the Sun forming a close conjunction to our star and Venus and Mars also in the close embrace of the ‘conjunction aspect’ (= same longitude) in Virgo, both by sign and constellation, this ingress activates a snapshot of these alignments.

Whenever Jupiter is involved the theme includes words such as big and expansive because it is larger than all the planets and moons in the solar system, combined! Scorpio is symbolic of shared wealth and resources, such as banks, investment firms, insurance agencies and research, investigation and undercover projects too which includes activities hidden from view and spy networks too. So, these areas of focus will undergo their next ...
