October 11, 2013

Tip of the Week:

As the new season gains momentum themes of justice, equality and the need for cooperation, tolerance and acceptance of differences and of change are resounding on the airwaves. These themes are all closely linked to the archetype of Libra, which at best implies diplomacy, fairness, balance, harmony and appreciation of all sides of any argument. The principle of balance is dynamic and not static. This means that the balance point is always moving. Thus, to maintain balance we must even ‘move on’ with the rhythm and flow of changes. This is the basic challenge of life. So, here we are at a pivotal point in time and history. In some respects things have not changed. The drama rages on despite a steady ‘progress’ of civilization. Yet to assume that the steady progression of time, into the future, means that things will get progressively better than they were is idealistic and represents a linear point of view. While our modern world with all its science and technology and certainly made many improvements, they have also caused their fair share of issues. In the cycles of life and there are many, there are high and lows that every generation experiences. Currently, strife and struggle rage on all over the world. Such conflict is an ancient theme and yet it remains in full force illustrating that it is a core feature of human life. The shutdown of government in the U.S. is a prime example. As might be expected at this juncture of civilization, where technology progressively challenges traditional lines of division and consequent cultural differences, the birth pains of the steadily emerging global village ensue. According to the general indication of planetary alignments, simple solutions are unlikely anytime soon. In fact, the overall pattern points to a steady rise in this revolutionary juncture. Next week’s Full Moon in Aries should illustrate this point quite clearly. Stay tuned…

Aries (Mar 21 – Apr 20)

A series of conflicting planetary alignments is challenging everyone somehow. For you the focus is squarely on relationships and the process of creating harmony. This is at times harder than at others, like now. Cultural activities, travel and adventure are ideal outlets. Still, anticipate rapidly changing moods so that you don’t get stuck in any one of them.

Taurus (Apr 20 – May 21)

Clearing the old to make way for the new is a feature of a larger plan to create a new quality of health, harmony and flow. This may well include renovations and make overs of some kind. You feel the need to cover a lot of bases these days and may feel that you are working double time. Pace yourself because this momentum is likely to increase yet.

Gemini (May 21 – Jun 21)

A mixed bag of energies is a current challenge. You are excited to spend quality time with friends yet you have to give more than usual. Thankfully your energy levels r

Hello! my name is Pascale. My book is about Angels, “Always There For You”, and also about positive thinking, funny anecdotes and Angels stories.

I have been living in Ireland for the past 28 years and last year, I got my book published by a wonderful lady, Jane Donald, author of “Sacred Messages from Sacred Ireland”.

It tells about how I ended up in Ireland all those years ago, how my life has been altered by a very serious motorbike accident when I was 18. How I came through it, and how I discovered Angels when arriving in Ireland, and how they changed my life. It also tells about my being lost when confronted with English language, which led to many very funny anecdotes, well, looking back on it, of course, as at the time, it left me baffled!

The message I wanted to convey with this book is that we should always have faith in our Angels, even for those, like me, who don’t see them, feel them or hear them! just know that they’re there, always willing to help you.

Talk to them like you would talk to your best friend. you will notice the difference when you ask help and when you don’t.

Angels are always there for you!

Penticton Bc - 1st time in the Okanagan
Hosted with Cindy Smith (Calgary) and Jaden Sterling (Florida)
OK In Health Presents: This course is perfect for you if you are really ready to make changes to how you believe and think about money and spirituality.

"I was in awe and gratitude after Jaden and I taught this workshop. This was a true example of moving from "I can't to I can." I send gratitude to all the students who trusted in themselves to change old belief patterns that no longer serve them and created new patterns that work and benefit them now. Amazing change Jaden and I witnessed and the feedback from students about the positive experiences since course have been incredible. So please take the leap of change and join us in our next class to increase your Spiritual and Financial Freedom!" Cindy Smith

"Course has allowed me to become aware of my unconscious blocks I had with finances and spirituality-- mainly finances which in turn has raised my self-esteem. I now have tools to reinforce the huge shift I experienced." Lee

"Amazing course! Gets down to the core and heals completely. I loved and enjoyed every minute. I look forward to what can be created." Diane M.

"You connect everyone to their soul's purpose and it makes everyone's life a better path. Your love gives everyone joy and we all love you back with gratitude." Louise

Advanced Cognitive & Memory Enhancement by Enerex
As we age, our memory skills and cognitive abilities tend to diminish. Many of us notice that we forget names or where we placed our keys or wallet. While some people expect a certain amount of cognitive deterioration, many don’t realize that the aging process has very little to do with memory loss or other cognitive disorders. Instead, many cognitive issues stem from not getting the right nutrients, often compounded by poor lifestyle choices...
Believe It and You’ll See It by Wayne Dyer
“Contemplation is the condition of alert passivity, in which the soul lays itself open to the divine Ground within and without, the immanent and transcendent Godhead.” It’s as if by thinking about what you desire, you release a zillion little invisible yet alert worker bees who guide you in the act of creation. When you use your mind to align with the all-knowing “transcendent Godhead,” miracles begin to show up and...

Calcium - look beyond the dairy aisle by OK In Health's Articles
Calcium is key for healthy bones and getting enough calcium helps build bones as we grow from children to adults and calcium helps slow the loss of bone as we get older. While calcium and dairy are beneficial by lowering the risk of osteoporosis and colon cancer, the negatives of high intake include increasing the risk of...
Cravings: A Tormentor or Blessing in Disguise ? by Lisa Kilgour
Cravings are a major cause of dietary indiscretions…as well as the source of a big pile of guilt we feel everyday. But to me, a Nutritionist, they’re an important piece of the puzzle of health. What, when, and why we crave food tells me a lot about nutritional imbalances, blood sugar imbalances, and deficiencies. Without these cravings my job would be much harder...
Experiencing The Different Vibrational Energy of Ireland by Cindy Smith
I am still in vibrational awe of all that I was able to experience on our Celtic Angel Tour in Ireland. I would like to share some of my personal favourites and some shifts of energy for me. First I would like to state that my vibrational energy is changed. It would be impossible, I belief, to keep my energy the same after visiting some of the Sacred Sights & historical ruins in Ireland. I am in gratitude to have witnessed how other people on the tour experienced different sights we visited. Regardless of experience in working with energy, everyone at some point shared their own AWE.
Fall to Winter by Brenda Molloy
I have received a number of requests from the readers of Seasonal Adjustments to provide more information on how to acquire nourishment in preparation for winter. As winter approaches we naturally begin to store energy. Just as the bears put on weight and the squirrels gather nuts we too feel this calling of nature. Put very simply we gather energy (qi or chi) in 2 ways

How Archangel Michael Defends Us All by Lorna Byrne
A few months back I was a passenger in a car and we stopped at a red light outside the main Criminal Courts in Dublin. I watched a woman in her fifties walk up the steps towards the main entrance of the building. There were three angels walking with her as well as her guardian angel, which I saw as a light three steps behind her. One day some years ago I was walking with the Angel Michael; I had been wondering whether he was there for people who were being dishonest or doing bad things...

Is There An Angel Who Fixes Cars? by Doreen Virtue
God and the angels are limitless beings, so they’re able to help each and every person simultaneously. Some people argue that it’s not right for us to ask angels to do our bidding, as they have more important things to do. Yet, when I ask God and the angels about this, I always hear reassurances of their unlimited love and availability. They want us to be peaceful and happy, just as any loving parents would hope for their offspring. So when we ask Archangel...

Tears in Heaven by Brian Weiss
In his song “Tears in Heaven,” Eric Clapton wonders whether his young son, who had tragically died in an accident, would know his name if they met in heaven. His is a universal and ageless question. How will we recognize our loved ones? Will we know them, and will they know us, if and when we meet again, whether in heaven or on earth, once more in physical bodies?

What is a Chiropractor? by Cary Yurkiw
Have you ever wondered what exactly a chiropractor is? Most people say they do back adjustments! True, well sort of as the question is simple enough, but the answer is much more! The definition of chiropractor in Spine Health is: A chiropractor is a health care professional focused on the diagnosis and treatment neuromuscular disorders, with an emphasis on treatment through manual adjustment and/or manipulation of the spine. Simple enough right? Wrong! I have found that every aspect of our daily lives contributes to the proper or improper alignment of our spines and with that our overall health...

Tip of the Week:

The first week of each month is a good time to offer an overview for the whole month and not just the week. This month is quite dynamic with the Sun, Moon, Venus and Mars all changing signs and Mercury turning retrograde on October 21st. The Moon changes signs every 2.5 days so it is common. Yet, the New Moon in Libra on October 4 at 5:34 pm PDT is especially noteworthy because it ties in to a dynamic aspect pattern involving Uranus and Pluto. This means the entire month will be charged with some major power plays, changes, transformations and purifications because Pluto is the release valve in this pattern. (Read more about it by subscribing to my New Moon Newsletter and you can find it on my Facebook Fan Page: Sunstarastrology). The Sun will enter Scorpio on October 22 this year at 11:10 pm, so it will be colored by Mercury retrograde and also in Scorpio. This produces an extra curious and investigative energy pattern yet simultaneously a v...

OK In Health's Wellness Tips!

Restless Leg Syndrome
Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS) is a disorder that has been making big headlines lately. At rest, the sufferer's legs often feel uncomfortable, and he/she may have a very strong urge to move. If you think you may have RLS, see a health care provider; don't diagnose yourself. Once they have ruled out other conditions and diagnosed you with RLS, it can be managed. Techniques include taking a warm bath before bedtime, sleeping on your side with a pillow between your knees, and avoiding both alcohol and caffeine, especially before going to bed.  Also have your Iron checked with your doctor and try to get one walk in a day.
Benefits of Water Exercise
It is reported that older, overweight, and/or mildly disabled people can benefit from water exercise. It places less stress on joints and can improve strength and flexibility while burning calories.
Pets and Your Health
Do you own a dog or a cat? Some studies show that pet owners tend to have lower blood pressure, reduced stress levels and lower cholesterol readings than those without pets, regardless of other factors like smoking and diet. If you don't have a pet, but think you might just want one, consider "borrowing" one by volunteering to walk a neighbour's dog or by pet-sitting. These may be good ways to see if owning a pet is right for you and for your health.
Hand Weights
Should you swing hand weights while walking? Experts disagree, but in the interests of safety, it is probably better not to use them. Gripping the weights while walking can increase blood pressure. They can also increase the strain on arm and shoulder muscles, and ligaments. If you decide to use weights anyway, swing smoothly, keep the weights under good control and limit the weights to no more than 3 pounds.
Exercise Cool Down
Fitness experts recommend cooling down after a moderate to high intensity exercise session. This prevents sudden pooling of blood in the muscles. Slowly cooling down also prevents sudden drops in blood pressure that can lead to dizziness and falls. During the last 3-5 minutes of your workout, gradually decrease the exercise intensity. Gently approach your resting state before coming to a complete stop.
Devils Claw cream (especially for arthritis, gout, lupus) Arnica cream (if you get hurt, especially athletic people in team sports such as baseball, basketball, hockey, soccer, etc. and tennis, golf, takes the swelling and pain away) MSM cream (seems also to work on arthritis pain) Wild Yam cream (sciatic nerve and joint pain) Massage lotion (sore muscles, muscle strain, massage) St. John's Wort oil (muscle strains & sprains, muscle fatigue, tendonitis) Rain Forest cream.

Five Blocks to Better Health
There are 336 30-minute blocks of time in one week. The American Heart Association recommends that you commit five or more "blocks" to exercise. In the time it takes you to watch five sit-coms you could be on your way to better health!
Dieticians recommends eating something for breakfast each day. If you normally skip this meal, consider trying to eat breakfast at least 3 days next week. Quick and healthy choices include dry whole grain cereal, dried or fresh fruit, whole wheat toast lightly spread with peanut butter, low fat yogurt, soy milk, a small piece of cheese, or oatmeal. It is not necessary to eat a lot of volume or a lot of fat, but eating something for breakfast can help maintain better energy during the morning hours.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
To help prevent carpal tunnel syndrome, check the following tips for some that you might be able to use. Wear fingerless gloves to help keep hands warm and flexible; pick up objects with both hands instead of just one (reduce wrist strain); type softly instead of forcefully striking the key board; take frequent, brief breaks during periods of prolonged typing; and wear splints to keep your wrists straight instead of flexed.
Definition of Light on a Food Label
According to the FDA, the term "light" or "lite" on a food label means that the food contains 1/3 fewer calories or 50% less fat or 50% less sodium than its original version. However, don't forget to check the serving size. A reduction in calories, fat, or sodium will be undone if we take a larger portion.
Do you know the symptoms of appendicitis? Here is what the National Digestive Diseases Information Clearinghouse has to say. Symptoms include pain to the right of the navel (beginning near the navel and moving down to the right), or worsening pain in the same area associated with moving, deep breathing, coughing or sneezing. Other symptoms include nausea, vomiting or abdominal swelling. Anyone with symptoms of appendicitis needs to quickly see a doctor.
Think further than a Waldorf salad, with virtually no calories, celery is an excellent snack, and is an essential ingredient of many dishes such as soups and casseroles. A 100g of celery contains only 7 calories. Oriental medicine has long used celery to lower blood pressure.
Playground safety
The National Safety Council reports that playground injuries send more than 200,000 children to hospital emergency rooms each year. Keep your children and loved ones safe. Check your backyard and neighborhood playgrounds for safety. Key safety needs include smooth edged equipment, guardrails, and soft, yielding ground surfaces, such as mulch or pea gravel.
According to our fitness experts, a 150-pound person walking on a flat surface at 4 miles per hour burns roughly 4.7 calories/minute. Stair climbing burns more, from 8-12 calories per minute. Next time, try an experiment; take the stairs instead of the elevator! Every stair counts - only 5 stairs to the calorie. Not interested? Continue to walk; it's good for you too!

“I would highly recommend this Celtic Angel tour & the people who organized it were amazing. The people on the trip are now family and it was so hard to leave. I so want to go on another one! A big thank you to Cindy and Maria and everyone who assisted us along the way. I especially liked the sheep, handing candy to the kids in the St. Patrick’s day parade, the scenery and views, Maria’s family and the bus driver was so informative and friendly. I give this tour 10 out of 10” - Theresa

"From the moment of landing until your last day your trip will be a remarkable adventure . Whether you are an seasoned traveler who usually makes all their own arrangements or a beginning world explorer you will appreciate the care and detailed arrangements that Maria makes in preparation for the trip and during your days of travel. There is so much to see in Ireland and Maria manages to squeeze in an amazing variety of engaging experiences: historic sites, sacred circles, breathtaking landscapes, cityscapes, shops, galleries, museums, pubs! Places to linger all day or evening. Food of course is important. While on the road Maria finds interesting stops for delicious and always too plentiful amounts of food. Evening group dinners will be a highlight. It is a jam packed trip. With Maria's sense of humour even
the road touring experience in the green Paddy bus is a delightful experience. Bring your wellies!" Dawn

"On our recent tour to Ireland, I was very appreciative of Maria's knowledge of the area and Cindy as an amazing teacher. We had so much fun".
