 | Turn Down the Heat with Spicy Foods | | Do you ever find your mouth on heat overload when eating spicy food? When this happens, don't reach for a glass of water to cool down. Water actually spreads the hot sensation inside the mouth. Your best bet is to drink skim or low-fat milk, which contains a protein that calms down the heat from peppers. Nibbling on a piece of dry bread, chips or plain rice can also help. All will help ease the pain and burning from too many hot spices. |
