About Maria Carr
The Publisher of OK In Health

Maria Carr grew up in Ireland and after years of studying, traveling, and working in Ireland, Europe, Canada, Australia, and other places, she settled in beautiful Penticton, British Columbia,  Canada, in the Okanagan Valley  in 1992. She continues to travels and recenlty has travelled across Ireland, Mexico, and South America ( Costa Rica, Columbia, Panama Jungles).

Maria Carr was a Dental Surgery Assistant (DSA) for 18 years and she went onto work at an Okanagan health food store for five years as a Natural Health Consultant and Digestive Care advisor. Maria is also a Certified Reflexology RAC Practitioner. She has a private practice called 'Celtic Healing Centre' in Penticton, B.C. She has also specialized in Healing Touch & Healing Touch Support for Pregnancy, Medicial Intuitive and Childbirth, and has created the organic "Celtic-Healing Creams".

Maria started the "OK In Health" website in 2003, as she felt there was a real need for networking and supporting of our Health and Wellness Community. She felt there was also a need for a main place to post all workshops and natural health related information in the Okanagan, B.C., & AB...  

In 2006, Maria went to Ireland to launch OK in Health - In Ireland. In June of 2006, Maria Launched the current newly design website.

In 2006, Maria met and attended training by digestive care expert Brenda Watson, metabolism expert Brad King, hormone expert Lorna Vanderhaeghe, herbalists & medicinal mushroom expert Terry Willard, fats, oils & nutrition expert Udo Erasmus.

In 2007, Maria represented OK In Health and had special one on one meetings with Neale Donald Walsch, Dr. Gabor Mate, and attended lectures by Dr. David Suzuki and Barbara Coloroso and others.

In 2008, Maria also had the chance to meet and attend lectures by Wayne Dyer, Louise Hay, Caroline Myss, Doreen Virtue and even had a reading from Sylvia Browne, plus met spiritual intuitive Colette Baron-Reid, stress management, humour consultant Loretta LaRoche, and psychic medium Lisa Williams!

Maria hosts a weekly Health Column in 5 Okanagan newspapers and was invited to give a talk to 200 people at the "2008-The Year to Create". Maria's topic was called - "Create Your Dream!"

Maria is the founder, editor, and web designer of the ‘OK In Health’ website and is enjoying watching the growth of the website, thanks to the tremendous support from all our 3,000+ members.

OK In Health has been highlighted on in April 2005  "Okanagan To-day" tv show on Shaw Cable.
  Aired in the  Okanagan Valley, this 7 minutes show all about the success of OK In Health. 
In August, - "Okanagan To-day" tv show aired a show about Chris Stormer's  Reflexology Course and how OK In Health was the host sponsor who invited and arranged for Chris to come to the Okanagan from South Africa. Since then, Maria has invited other world renown teachers to come to the Okanagan. OK In Health was featured on TV when she was awarded the 2008 SOHF Health & Fitness Educator Award by MLA Rich Thorpe.

In 2007, Maria started "OK in Web Designs". She has enjoyed this creative job of building websites for many practitioners and small business.  [ More details ]

In 2008, OK In Health was awarded the South Okanagan Health Fair's
SOHF Health & Fitness Educator Award and Maria was awarded the
2008 SOWINS, Women Up Front and Centre - Health & Wellness Award
for her work on OK In Health and the community.

In 2009, Maria has started her training as a Medical Intuitive with Kim Seer and is currently working on building a new website for OK In Health.

Maria is also an event co-ordinator and has organized such events as a St. Patrick's Day Community celebration, Relexology courses with Chris Stormer from South Africia, Cranio Sacral Reflexology courses with Dr. Martine Faure Alderson from England and soon to come an anatomy and physiology course with Joan Moffet and Healing Touch for Babies with Rita Kluny, from Texas.

Maria and the OK In Health team travel around B.C providing presentations, talks and attending health shows to share the news about the OK in Health network.

OK in Health has  over 3,000 signed up for their free membership & e-magazine.
Our goal for 2009 is to reach 1,000 new members.

Maria continues to enjoy studying, traveling, working on OK In Health and life in the beautiful Okanagan Valley with her family and friends.
